When do you choose a center bar or a cross?
- Center bar – for rectangular/elongated canvases where the longest side > 120 cm.
- Cross – for (almost) square canvases where height and width > 120 cm. For frames > 2 meters we recommend a double cross.

What is the “slot” (groove)?
From 60 cm upwards, 3D stretcher bars have a slot in the middle of the bar. You slide in one center bar or two notched center bars that together form a cross. The joint works like a puzzle – quick, square and solid.
Ordering advice
- Per piece = one center bar. Per 2 pieces = a cross.
- Example 60 × 130 cm (rectangular): 2 × 60 cm + 2 × 130 cm + center bar 60 cm.
- Example 120 × 120 cm (almost square): 4 × 120 cm + cross 120 × 120 cm (2 notched center bars).
- Canvas allowance: keep at least +6 cm per side relative to the stretcher size.
Compatibility
- Combine with our 3D stretcher bars for a perfect fit.
