Made in the Netherlands from carefully selected spruce wood, triple laminated and 100% PEFC-certified (Certificate no. CU-PEFC-807830). Thanks to the smart puzzle/notch joint, the bars easily click together with a rubber mallet – no glue or nails required. Free wedges with every order.

When to choose a center bar?
Choose a center bar for rectangular/elongated canvases where the longest side > 120 cm. Our stretcher bars from 50 cm upwards have a standard slot in which the bar fits puzzle-like.

- 60 × 130 cm canvas → order 2 × 60 cm + 2 × 130 cm + center bar 60 cm.
When to choose a cross bar?
Choose a cross (2 center bars with a notch that interlock in the middle) for nearly square formats where both sides > 100 cm. The cross clicks “puzzle-like” into the slots of the stretcher frame and distributes the tension evenly.

- 120 × 130 cm canvas → 2 × 120 cm + 2 × 130 cm + 2 center bars (120 cm + 130 cm) forming a cross.
- 108 × 150 cm canvas → 2 × 108 cm + 2 × 150 cm + 2 center bars (108 cm + 150 cm) → cross.

- Frames > 2 meters → on quotation basis (advice: double cross).
- Allow at least +5 cm canvas per side compared to stretcher size when stretching.

Can I assemble it myself?
Yes. The puzzle/notch joint slides easily into the slots of the stretcher frame – no glue or nails required. Best assembled with a rubber mallet to keep everything square and tight.
When do I choose a cross instead of one center bar?
For (almost) square formats with both sides > 100 cm, or for very large canvases that need extra torsional rigidity and even tension distribution.
Are 45 mm and 65 mm interchangeable?
No. Our center and cross bars are only available online for 65mm (for 45mm on request).
